Allergy Policy

At Andre Burger Cricket, we are committed to providing a safe and enjoyable experience for all participants. We recognize the importance of managing allergies and are dedicated to ensuring the safety and well-being of all children attending our clinics.

Allergy Management Protocols

  1. Disclosure of Allergies:
    • Parents or guardians must disclose any known allergies of their child during the registration process.
    • Detailed information about the allergy, including triggers, symptoms, and emergency treatment, should be provided.
  2. Communication:
    • Staff and coaches will be informed of all participants’ allergies and trained on how to recognize and respond to allergic reactions.
    • A list of participants with allergies will be available to all staff to ensure awareness and preparedness.
  3. Emergency Preparedness:
    • An emergency action plan will be in place for each child with an allergy.
    • Parents are required to provide any necessary medications, such as EpiPens, clearly labeled with the child’s name and instructions.
  4. Food and Snacks:
    • Our clinics aim to be nut-free zones. Parents are asked to refrain from sending snacks or meals containing nuts.
    • Any food provided by the clinic will be carefully checked for common allergens.
  5. Environment Control:
    • Efforts will be made to minimise exposure to known allergens within the clinic environment.
    • Participants will be reminded to wash hands before and after eating.
  6. Parental Involvement:
    • Parents are encouraged to communicate any concerns regarding their child’s allergies directly with the clinic staff.
    • We welcome suggestions to improve our allergy management protocols.
  7. First Aid and Training:
    • Staff are trained in first aid, including the administration of EpiPens and other emergency allergy treatments.
    • Regular drills and refreshers will be conducted to ensure preparedness in case of an allergic reaction.

Important Reminders

  • Parents must ensure that their contact information is up to date in case of an emergency.
  • It is the responsibility of the parent or guardian to educate their child on recognising symptoms and notifying an adult immediately if they feel unwell.
