High Performance Workshop

PaceLab are delighted to partner with the Andre Burger Cricket to deliver sessions for fast bowlers of all ages in Brisbane between Sunday 21st January & Wednesday 24th January. There are two options available to suit bowlers as well as one option for coaches.

Three Hour PaceLab Introductory Masterclass

  • Duration: 3 Hours
  • When: Sunday 21st January
  • Time:
    • Age 11-13 (09:00-12:00)
    • Age 14-17 (13:00-16:00)
  • Where: National Cricket Centre
  • Who:
    • Male or Female
    • Any aspiring fast bowlers looking to understand what it takes to bowl faster.
  • Group Size: 20 Max per session
  • Cost: $80.00

Sunday 21st January

  • Learn what it takes to bowl fast.
  • Receive a basic Fast Bowling Profiling.
  • Learn the PaceLab Training System.
  • Understand the PaceLab Drill guided by Steffan Jones.

Two Day Fast Bowling Workshop

  • Duration: 4 Hours a Day
  • When: Monday 22nd January & Tuesday 23rd January
  • Time: 10:00-12:00 & 13:00-15:00
  • Where: National Cricket Centre
  • Who:
    • Male or Female
      Due to the intensity of the camp, bowlers will need to be prepared to work hard. They must have played grade cricket (or the female equivalent) and be age 15+. The camp is focused on making fast bowlers even faster!
  • Group Size: 15 Max
  • Cost: $350.00 (8 Total Training Hours with Steffan Jones)

2 Day Fast Bowling Workshop

  • Day 1 AM – Full Bowling Profiling and Introduction to PaceLab Principles
  • Day 1 PM – RAMPIPE (Learning how to run a PaceLab Session)
  • Day 2AM – Skill Stability Paradigm
  • Day 2PM – Transfer of training and injury prevention

Coaching Education- Opportunity for coaches to attend

  • Duration: 4 Hours a Day
  • When: Monday 22nd January & Tuesday 23rd January
  • Time:
    • 10:00-12:00 (Observation)
    • 12:00-12:30 (Q&A)
    • 13:00-15:00 (Observation and assistance)
    • 15:00-15:30 (Q&A and Presentation)

  • Who: Any coaches looking to develop their understanding of the PaceLab Training Methodology and injury prevention.

Coach Workshop

  • Coaches can attend the 2-Day Fast Bowling Camp and watch and learn from Steffan’s coaching.
  • Learn how to identify and coach different bowler types to help them  to increase pace.
  • Develop an understanding of the PaceLab Principles and the Skill Stability Paradigm

About Steffan

STEFFAN JONES IS THE LAST DUAL PROFESSIONAL SPORTSMAN IN THE UNITED KINGDOM HAVING PLAYED 3 YEARS PROFESSIONAL RUGBY AND 20 YEARS PROFESSIONAL CRICKET. 

Steffan is the High-Performance Fast Bowling coach for Rajasthan Royals in the IPL as well as consulting for individual fast bowlers, javelin throwers and pitchers around the world. He is the former Director of Sport Performance at a private school in England. Steffan is also the High-Performance Director for Gosport overseeing the Olympic preparation for various athletes across multiple sports and the brand ambassador and expert for various companies including 1080 Sprint, Lila Movement and Exsurgo Technology

Steffan is in a unique position having played the sport, is a qualified sports scientist, a UKSCA qualified strength and conditioning coach and also as a level 3 qualified technical coach. His methods are innovative and heavily based on sports science. Steffan is also the only cricket coach to be qualified in teaching the Lila movement Exogen suit which he regards as the number 1 specific strength tool in the business. Steffan has developed a reputation as an ‘outside the box’ thinker in all overhead throwing sports and is the go-to man when an increase in bowling velocity is required. 

His focus on specific strength including weighted ball bowling, the application of the Bondarchuk classification and the utilisation of Isometric training as part of his Skill-stability training’ method has brought him plaudits from all around the world and continues to change and stabilise technique.
